[ July 20, 2002 | 9:40 pm | DJ Sammy -- Heaven ]
Hello. Well, it's been a long long time since the last update. Lots has happened. I'm still at my aunts, going to university in the fall (UWO to be precise), which means I'll be moving to London in about a month and a half. I've also been working at a cafe. It's nothing glamorous, but I like it. So, a short recap of what's happened: I graduated high school, I think I'm over Mike (not that there was tons to get over), Sam and I are friends again, I went to prom (my first high school dance ever), my parents and I are in something of a legal battle, I've been rollerblading almost everynight. As you can see, things are as uneventful as usual. In other news, today was lot of fun. I worked with Mel for two hours--we had tons of fun making fun of the Cafe's owner, the only person I've ever met whose British accent couldn't even give him a hint of charm. At about one, Myles came into work, not realizing he had the day off. We got about a half hour of work out of him before he figured things out and went home. A group of four people came in, including one very hot guy who Mel and I took turns drooling over....and if that weren't enough he had a very large pile of cash and left us a seven dollar tip--I've never made over 15 dollars in tips in a day before. We're planning on going to see a movie with Chantelle at some point. I must see her legs (which she's stopped shaving) before the summer ends. After Mel went home I was on my own until closing. In all that time I had only 6 customers come in. Suffice it to say it was very boring. [ July 30, 2002 | 1:13 am | India Arie -- Promises ]I never realized how frustrating looking for an apartment could be. People are annoying. When I send out 15 emails, I expect to get more than 4 back. When someone makes plans to call me on a certain day at a certain time to make plans to show me several places the next day, I expect them to do so. When someone says they're going to hold a place for me for two days so I can make up my mind, I expect them not to rent it out to someone else (luckily I was calling to turn it down, rather than accept). The more I search for accomodations, the more I'm leaning back towards buying a car and staying here for a year. I don't know, we'll see what happens. In other news, Mila called me today, and helped to put at ease some of my worries. I've been questioning whether medicine is the right career for me, fearing that my oft-empotionally-detached attitude may cause problems. After a very long speech by Mila, we decided that in a medical field detachment is more often a good thing, and that underneath it all I am compassionate enough to help people. Plus if it turns out we're wrong there's always research. Today has been kind of boring. I've rediscovered (again) why I quit computer games. Tomorrow I have an appointment to see 2 places, and hopefully a few more after I make some calls. I miss Desi. I hope she'll come home soon. |
